On Plough Lane stock car events at Wimbledon take place at Wimbledon Stadium, near to the former stadium of football club Wimbledon. The stock car events at Wimbledon are looked after by the British Stock Car Association (BriSCA) and Spedeworth International and takes place as part of the stock car season which is held for six months between September and March. Unlike other races, there is a degree of contact allowed which allows for a limited amount of vehicle contact so as to try and affect the driver's focus so they end up losing line. The unique set of racing rules relating to car contact meant that stock car events at Wimbledon often attracted crowds of over 30,000 in the years immediately after World War Two. Wimbledon Stadium is still a favourite with stock car events at Wimbledon spectators which means that punters always flock there, largely due to the oval racing track along with it having the best facilities for stock car races in the UK.
